My Grandad, was a very happy man, he loved fishing, and going on the canal out back of his house. He like the odd cigarette or two. He was born on the 18th February 1930, the second child of Ernest and Sarah Jane Hindley, he grew up in clayton le moors, with his elder sister Nancy and his younger brother Derek. He was very close to Derek, through their teenage years they could pass as twins they were so alike. My Grandad joined the army REME in 1949 and while serving with the Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers he was awarded the 'Cross Guns' for his skill on the rifle range at Bisley. My Grandad And grams married on 14th October 1950, married a long time and very happy.He always looked on the brighter side of things and went through life without a care in the world. He was very close to his daughter Elaine (my mum. Grandad made home brews as well, he would go upto the garden shed and check it when he came home from work. He had his 65th Birthday part arranged by Elaine at Platt Club, which was very nice for him, all his friends and family there. He was an avid was book reader. Before he began to suffer from Parkinson's disease he loved doing jigsaw puzzles. Unfortunately the progression of the Parkinson's disease together with Alzheimer's meant that it became too difficult to care for Grandad at home, so a few years ago he moved to the Woodlands in Clayton to be cared for. It was here the Grandad sadly passed away after developing Bronchial Pneumonia. I loved him so much and i went to see him at the funeral home and gave him a kiss on his forehead and said my goodbye, which was very upsetting, I miss him so much.

Hi Grandad, well today is another day, i have only 14 weeks to go before the baby comes out, i know you will see her when she is born, Reece says he see's you, which makes me smile, i wish i could. Two years have passed, and i miss you so much. Grandma misses you loads too, charlie is not well at the moment, he found out he has Cancer in a bad way, which is a bit upsetting for Grams. I am missing you so much, my recent scare has had me troubled lately, but getting through, not sure what it is yet but soon i hope i will get the all clear. Well it has been a whole year without you here in life, but in spirit you are with me always, i miss your smile, though i can still see you smile, i miss us going upto the shed together, mum sends her love to you, she misses you always and was getting upset yesterday, please send a little message to gran to let your ashes go, its time now grandad for to to let you go, so a little whisper in her ear.
